In the United States alone, the amount of organic cotton being harvested grew from 6,814 bales in 2004 to 19.2 million bales in 2008. As those numbers continue to increase all over the world, the cost of growing this cotton drops.
That popularity isn’t just down to the positive impact which comes from switching to organic practices. Organic farming is also easier on developing communities. Working environments are better, and small-scale farmers find it easier to benefit since they don’t need to spend money on expensive chemicals and pesticides.
